SMH is dedicated to defending the human rights of migrants and refugees. To sustain its mission, SMH urgently needs regular support from members, vital to continue safeguarding lives. But how can we attract regular members when research shows that the sense of empathy felt when impacted by a cause fades over time?
Once a year, we will launch a limited-edition waterproof book that floats in the water. Here, refugees rescued by SMH can share their reality to create empathy. The old and new members will stay engaged because they are also part of these stories and, as such, will be featured in these books. This way, these stories will never be left to drown. And our narrative will always stay afloat.
